Emile Haddad Seattle Teams Game Updates
Hey, welcome! This is Emile Haddad, a Seattle teams fan, and I’ve decided to make it easier for you to follow what’s been happening in Seattle sports with this blog update.
If you frequent this blog, you already know I write about the games and other fun stuff like player profiles and writing my opinions about certain debates (go read my piece on Pete Rose and the Hall of Fame discussion), so now I’ll just quickly report news-style what’s been happening across the board so you can catch up on all the Seattle sports fun.
Seahawks Penalized for Violating Offseason Rules – The Seahawks and Coach Pete Carroll were slapped with fines for violating NFL-NFLPA offseason rules for working out. The Seahawks also lose their fifth-round draft pick for 2017.
Week 1 Highlights – Seahawks win against the Miami Dolphins 10-12; Russell Wilson and Doug Baldwin staved off a last-minute upset play by the Dolphins to win the game.
Week 2 Highlights – Seahawks lose to the Rams 3-9; Christine Michael runs for a 16-yard gain while Russell Wilson and Paul Richardson combine for a 14-yard gain.
Mariners beat Houston Astros To Stay Alive – The Mariners are still in the wild card race; they escaped the Astros 7-3 to face the Toronto Blue Jays.
Mariners Off To Shaky Start Against the Blue Jays – The Mariners suffered a stinging 2-10 loss to the Blue Jays where the latter had a big 4th inning. With that loss, the Mariners have 10% chance of making it to the playoffs.
Huskies Toy with Rutgers – The Huskies beat the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 48-13 for an awesome season opener; Huskies had an early 34-3 lead in the first half thanks to QB Jake Browning.
Huskies vs. Vandals – Washington Huskies show Idaho Vandals who’s boss with a 59-14 win; QB Jake Browning had five touchdown passes!
Huskies Clobber Portland – UW Huskies beat Portland State Vikings 41-3; QB Jake Browning threw a beautiful 43 yard TD to Chico McClatcher!
Cougars Lose Against EWU – The Cougars failed to capitalize; they lost to the Eastern Washington Eagles 42-45! The Eagles were the underdogs in this game, taking a late fourth quarter lead. Unfortunately, the Cougars never got another chance.
Cougars Fall to Broncos – Washington State Cougars lose against the Boise State Broncos in a close 28-31 match; The Broncos held on to the lead dearly and it paid off when the Cougars fell short on offense in the fourth quarter.
WSU Cougars Thrash Vandals – The Cougars beat the Vandals 56-6 for the first win of the season; Robert Barber blocked a kick from Vandals’ Austin Rehkow which boosted the Cougars’ morale and fired them up for a memorable win.
Right now, Barber is facing an assault investigation together with T.J. Fehoko. Both are facing assault charges and were arrested by police last week. Barber may find himself kicked out of WSU for leaving two students hospitalized. He can still play for the Cougars but only God knows how long.
